Dr. Rachel Hevey is a group leader in the Department of Pharmaceutical Sciences at the University of Basel. Her research is focused on glycan synthesis and the development of glycan-based therapeutics for various indications.

Dr. Hevey is also one of the leaders of Swiss Women in Chemistry (SWC) which is part of the Swiss Chemical Society. Within this network, she aims to increase the visibility of female leaders in science as well as to help the career progression of female junior scientists. She discussed with us about the issues that women have to face in science and her vision on how to approach them.
